Building History
Ignite Family Academy is located in the Bower Learning Center (BLC) at 4111 6th Ave NE in Lacey. The building was constructed in 1971, and was originally the North Thurston High School library, salvaged from the campus when it was fully demolished in 1983. The BLC served as a community meeting space and office space and was eventually used as a professional development space until 2021 when it was remodeled into a school environment for the launch of Ignite Family Academy.
The building is named after Frank Bower, the first principal of North Thurston High School.
Ignite will be moving to a new space in 2025!
